COUNSELOR INTEREST

We are now accepting counselor applications for the 2025 camp season!

COUNSELOR POSITION DESCRIPTION

Donner Mine Music Camp selects some of the finest young musicians from high schools and colleges across the United States. Counselors range from 18-26 years of age, many of which are majoring in musical studies. 
​
Each counselor is responsible for groups of 6-11 campers. 

​Our volunteers undergo a rigorous background check prior to employment. 

The goal of all our counselors and the philosophy of DMMC is “to do everything possible in the space of one week to encourage and stimulate interest and growth in young musicians.”


COUNSELOR QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be completed with high school before the dates of camp
2. Be at least 18 years of age by the beginning  of camp  (July 1, 2025)
3. Must have a sound knowledge of your  primary instrument
4. Interested in developing personal  leadership skills
5. Able to effectively communicate with campers and staff
6. Be willing to participate 100% in all aspects of
camp
COUNSELOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Effectively lead a group of 6 to 11 campers each week
2. Supervision of your campers at all times
3. Be responsible to see that your campers adhere to the schedule 
4. Your musical responsibilities will be to attend rehearsals as needed, 
assist the band directors, provide private lessons as well as remedial instruction. It will also be expected that you willingly offer to help those in charge at any time.
5.Attend and participate in the daily staff meeting
6.Have fun and be a great role model for all campers
